Castle Characters

Potential character designs for a remix of the Castle Down 'verse with the serial numbers filed off. I was daydreaming the other day about how the story would look as a four-panel strip, and this ensemble fell together.

Solus: Northern kingdom. Pale skin, light hair, pointed ears. Crystal magic. Slaveholding. Language from same family as Ceannish.

Leif - Ex-slave of a Solar general, accidentally sort-of adopted by the opposing army. Hijinks ensue.


Ceannais: Western kingdom. Medium-to-dark skin, dark hair. Crystal magic & nature mages. Plant-based names common.

Thorn - our handsome soldier, and eventual knight. Slayed a dragon that one time.

Laurel - Weighs less than a duck. Can beat you at cards.

Holly - Laurel's daughter, and witch-in-training. Bearer of cute hairstyles. (Not as tall as she appears: she's floating a couple feet off the ground.)

Juniper - Enjoys setting things on fire. She's one of the good guys, though, don't worry.

Alona - Stranger you met in a bar. Seems nice enough.


Xi Foar: Eastern kingdom, over the mountains. Pale-to-medium skin, dark hair. Alchemy. Known for the world's best fiction.

Unnamed Xi Foarese princess - Has dark secrets and cute freckles. (I haven't decided the naming scheme for this country yet.)
