Castle Down - Illustrationsby *SailorPtah

Collected illustrations for Castle Down, a magical mystical medieval AU full of gratuitous glowing gemstones and golden glasses. It's TDS meets slavefic meets Princess Gwenivere and the Jewel Riders, with just a dash of mole-men.

Completely experimental style with the art, which I thought was going to make it go faster but which ended up taking twice as long. Download for full-size versions.

Nice effects and expressions on all of them, great job. The armor design looks great, too. But is Stephen's face supposed to look... older in this one?

Kinda-sorta? I'm drawing him in a more realistic style, using more photo references, as opposed to the stylized, cartoony way I usually lean towards. So his face is going to end up more lined and worn-looking.

Er, not consciously? I may have had Prince Endymion in mind when coming up with the armor, and then this just followed on from that.
