The alters from United States of Tara. From the cover art for this mix.

(Spoilers through Season 2!)

This is from an AU in which Tara and her inner family have started really communicating and getting to know each other, instead of being blocked and frustrated all the time.

Left to right:

Shoshanna - a therapist, and possibly the alter who knows the most about the system as a whole, although she's only letting Tara discover it little by little.

Alice - a homemaker, with mannerisms based on a woman who once fostered Tara and her sister when they were young. At her best, a well-mannered but fierce protector.

Gimme (in Alice's arms) - an angry, scared, and preverbal child (if not someone animalistic). Needs love, understanding, stability.

Tara - an artist, wife, and mother, and the primary host of the body. The show has so far implied that she's the core personality, but who knows? They're all people, either way.

Chicken (in Tara's arms) - an excitable, creative child. In spite of her silliness, takes seriously the duty to protect her sister.

Buck - a rough, tough, gun-toting, motorbike-riding dude. Prone to punching things when they go wrong, though his softer side comes out when he falls in love.

T - a teenager who isn't quite as selfish and rebellious as she pretends to be. Good at connecting with Tara's own teenage daughter.

this is one of my favorite series right now! ^^ i really like it how you've made all the alters look like they are their own person, while still keeping the resemblance to Tara. Also the atmosphere is nicely calm, which, in my opinion, suits the picture perfectly :)

and in the third series her new alter Bryce comes in. Bryce being her step brother (abuser) and to cope with the abuse that she received from him, she takes his characteristics as an alter.

Yes indeed. I'm glad I drew this before that season, as I don't think that plot thread was well-handled at all, unfortunately.

I loved the series, I hated that they closed serie Y_Y
