I'm guessing this is after he gets out of the thing with, I think it is, Liam. I am SO FAR BEHIND in reading your work. There was another one I loved, him with another man, and scars on hhis back. As well as the story where he showed Jon. It's true that those who move on often miss parts of the lifestyle. I think the expressions in this are priceless. However far Stephen may have come in recovering from that other relationship, he will always feel like he's offering something broken to Jon.

His scars here are from physical abuse as a child. And yes, it's still left him feeling pretty messed up, even decades later.
